indian food

(i'm back!)

so two weeks ago, deb and charlie came to visit. we wen't out for edinburgh-ian indian food on the saturday night, and only deb had her camera. I made her take pictures (and asked a waiter to take one too), but technical difficulties (i.e., the lack of a cord) prevented us from upload those pictures directly to my computer. and then we spent a night in the glascow/prestwick airport.....the blog's momentum was then lost as i was waiting for pictures. but alas, i have rededicated myself to having some sort of record of my time abroad. our indian dinner

hmm, long time ago. what'd we have? i think we all had versions of chicken tika masala, but i am not sure. it was ok, but not great; too much cocconut milk for my liking. but we started off with papadums, which were good- thin rice crackers that are dipped in various sauces (seen below).

the sauces

clockwise from the red one: pickled onions with herbs; chile-mint yogurt (my favorite); tomato-chile; and mixed pickles. it was fun going out to a restaurant and eating some different food, but next time, i need to go to indian food with someone who knows what they are doing-- i had no idea with that menu.
